On December 22, 2024, Ambassador of China to Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Chang Hua met with Professor Dr. Noura Al-Rashoud, the Executive Director of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) in Jeddah.
Ambassador Chang Hua said that China and the OIC have traditional friendship, and in recent years, exchanges between China and the OIC in various fields have become increasingly close. He said China has always regarded respecting and protecting human rights as an important task in governing the country. Chinese government has done its utmost to protect the basic human rights of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, and has effectively promoted long-term social stability in Xinjiang and the happy and healthy life of the people.
Dr. Al-Rashoud shared her impressions of her visit to China in October this year, she was impressed by Xinjiang's development achievements, and spoke highly of China's efforts to protect human rights in Xinjiang. She also said that the OIC and its member states attach great importance to developing relations with China and are willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China in various fields.
