On January 1, 2023 local time, Ambassador Qin Gang, China's Foreign Minister, called US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to bid farewell. Qin Gang recalled a number of  candid, in-depth and constructive meetings with Secretary Blinken during his tenure as Chinese Ambassador to the United States. Qin expressed his hope to continue close working relations with Blinken for a better China-US relationship. They also exchanged New Year's greetings in the call.
