On 6 May 2026, Ambassador of China to Saudi Arabia Chang Hua was invited to visit Jeddah Islamic Port in Saudi Arabia. Consul General of China in Jeddah Yang Yi accompanied the visit.

Ambassador Chang met with Vice President of Port Operations (West Coast) at the Saudi Ports Authority Saud Alonany. Ambassador Chang noted that not long ago, President Xi Jinping took a phone call from Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, during which they exchanged in-depth views on deepening mutual strategic trust, enhancing practical cooperation, expanding exchanges at all levels, and the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region, providing clear direction for the development of bilateral relations. Ambassador Chang pointed out that relevant Saudi ports are playing an important role in ensuring regional logistics under current circumstances, and that China is willing to deepen practical cooperation with Saudi Arabia in related fields. Mr. Alonany stated that the Saudi side will continue to fully support Chinese enterprises operating in Saudi Arabia, actively learn from China’s experience and advanced technologies in port operations, and promote the continuous upgrading of bilateral cooperation across various fields.

Ambassador Chang also visited and extended greetings to the Chinese employees of the relevant enterprises involved in the port’s operation.
