Effective November 20th, 2025, foreigners may fill in the relevant entry information online before coming to China through the official website of the National Immigration Administration (NIA), its Government Service Platform, mobile App “NIA 12367” , or the WeChat/Alipay mini program, or by scanning the QR code with mobile phones.
Foreigners who cannot fill in the information online in advance may complete the process upon arriving at a Chinese port of entry by scanning the QR code with mobile phones, or using on-site smart devices to fill in the information, or filling in the paper Arrival Card.
The following persons are exempt from filling in:
◎Holders of a valid Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card of the People’s Republic of China;
◎Holders of a valid Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents (non-Chinese Citizens);
◎Holders of a group visa or those eligible for group visa-free entry;
◎Passengers in 24-hour direct transit who stay within the designated area of the port;
◎Cruise passengers entering and departing on the same vessel;
◎Travelers entering through the E-channel;
◎Foreign crew members and other employees of exit-entry transport vehicles.
