On September 17, 2026, Ambassador of China to Saudi Arabia and Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation H.E. Chang Hua Meets with the newly appointed Secretary-General of the OIC H.E. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed in Jeddah.

Ambassador Chang outlined the four-point proposal put forward by President Xi Jinping on new security architecture for Middle East. He noted that the relations between China and Islamic countries have deepened and become more substantive in recent years, with both sides supporting each other on issues concerning their core interests. A delegation from the OIC recently paid a successful visit to China, witnessing firsthand the economic prosperity, ethnic unity and harmony, and the happy lives of the people across the country. China stands ready to further deepen practical cooperation with the OIC across various fields and work together to elevate the relations between China and Islamic countries to new heights.

Ahmed stated that the OIC attaches great importance to developing relations with China and appreciates China's consistent, impartial stance on international and regional issues. The OIC is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China across various sectors and to drive further development in the relations between two sides.
