On July 15, 2025, Ambassador of China to Saudi Arabia Chang Hua met with Mr. Mohammed A. Abunayyan, the founder and chairman of the board of directors of ACWA Power, and the company’s senior management team.

Ambassador Chang Hua said that ACWA Power is a world-leading renewable energy and desalination development and operation company. In recent years, the company has continued to deepen cooperation with China and implemented a number of important projects. China's door of opening up will not be closed and will only open even wider. He welcomed relevant Saudi companies to expand their business in China, further strengthen cooperation in investment, financing, and technological innovation, and make new contributions to in-depth integration of the Belt and Road Initiative with Saudi Vision 2030.

Mr. Mohammed A. Abunayyan shared details of his recent visit to China and participation in the Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin. He expressed optimism about the prospects for China’s economy and expressed willingness to continuously expand cooperation with China. He hopes to work together with China in leading the global energy transition and promoting green and low-carbon energy development.
