On August 4, 2025, Ambassador of China to Saudi Arabia Chang Hua met with Mr. Ehab Al-Najjar, newly appointed Deputy Minister for Consular Affairs of Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Ambassador Chang Hua said that the China-Saudi Arabia comprehensive strategic partnership has been deepening with increasing people-to-people exchanges. China has implemented a unilateral visa exemption policy for ordinary Saudi passport holders traveling to China on a trial basis for one year. China hopes that Saudi Arabia will also provide more convenience for Chinese people traveling to Saudi Arabia. The Chinese Embassy has the obligation to protect the lawful rights and interests of Chinese institutions and people in Saudi Arabia and provide consular protection and services. We are looking forward to strengthening communication with relevant Saudi authorities in this regard. 

Mr. Ehab Al-Najjar said that Saudi Arabia and China has friendly relations and Saudi Arabia welcomes more Chinese companies and tourists to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is willing to enhance exchanges with China on consular affairs.
