On August 18, 2024, Ambassador of China to Saudi Arabia Chang Hua was invited to attend the event of “Access to China” New Horizons in A-Share Investment held by the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Saudi Deputy Minister of Investment, H.E. Ms. Sara Al-Sayed, Chairman of Shenzhen Stock Exchange, Ms. Sha Yan, CICC Chairman Mr. Chen Liang, and officials from relevant financial regulatory departments and corporate representatives, more than 100 people in total, attended the event.

In his speech, Ambassador Chang Hua introduced the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and expressed that China is determined to promote high-level and institutional opening-up. China is willing to strengthen the alignment of  joint construction of “Belt and Road” initiative and Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030” and further deepen the cooperation between the two sides in the fields of finance and investment.

Officials from relevant institutions of China and Saudi Arabia introduced the investment environment of the two countries and the potential for cooperation in relevant fields. Executives of many high-quality listed companies in Shenzhen stock market had in-depth discussions on topics such as investment opportunities in the Chinese market and the prospects for China-Saudi cooperation, presenting the resilience, vitality and diversification of the Chinese economy to overseas investors.
