On July 7, 2024, upon his taking office in Riyadh, Ambassador of China to Saudi Arabia Chang Hua met with Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, the Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing of Saudi Arabia. Minister Counsellor for Economic and Commercial of the Chinese embassy Xie Qinsheng also attended the meeting.

Ambassador Chang Hua expressed that, under the joint leadership of the heads of China and Saudi Arabia, political mutual trust between the two countries has been continuously strengthened, and the comprehensive strategic partnership has been further deepened. China encourages and supports Chinese enterprises to participate in the infrastructure construction in Saudi Arabia in accordance with principles of the market and international rules.

Majid Al-Hogail stated that Saudi Arabia is committed to advancing housing and urban construction under the "Vision 2030" framework and is willing to engage in practical cooperation with China in the aforementioned areas.
