On 28th July 2026, Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia organized a Reception in Riyadh, celebrating the 99th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

    Ambassador of China to Saudi Arabia H.E. Mr. Chang Hua, Representative of Chief of General Staffs H.E. Maj.Gen. Eng. Ali bin Abdulaziz AlSharif, Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior H.E. Eng. Khalid bin Waleed Al-Rasheed, Chief of Logistics & Supply at Ministry of National Guard H.E. Maj.Gen. Nasser Al-Subaie as well as other Saudi delegates of different sectors, Defense Attachés and diplomats, representatives of Chinese enterprises and overseas Chinese communities, approximately 200 guests, participated the event.

    Brig.Gen. Zhu Jie, the Chinese Defense Attaché, pointed out that led by the Chinese Communist Party, the Chinese defense forces have become a strong and credible force for safeguarding China’s sovereignty, security and development interests, as well as for maintaining the world peace. There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is a part of China. China has indisputable sovereignty over related islands in the South China Sea and their adjacent waters. No matter what forces are behind hostile or separatist activities, or where the external aggression comes from, the PLA has full capability, confidence and readiness to defeat them head-on and decisively! Amid the ongoing regional changes in the Middle East, the significance of China-Saudi defense & security cooperation is further highlighted, which is marching firmly to higher strategic level under the guidance of the leaders of both countries.

    Themed Photo Exhibition as well as the short film "Foreign Military Officers Encounter the Long March" are showed simultaneously in the venue, evoking wide resonation from the audiences. Achievements of the Chinese defense forces and its role in promoting international peace are widely praised by all parties.
