On September 14, 2026, Ambassador of China to Saudi Arabia H.E. Chang Hua met with the newly appointed CEO of the Saudi Tourism Authority Mr. Ageel Alshaibani.

    Ambassador Chang noted that in recent years, cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia has continued to deepen across various fields, and people-to-people exchanges have become increasingly frequent. Culture and tourism are important channels for fostering mutual understanding and strengthening friendship between the two peoples. Saudi Arabia has been officially granted Approved Destination Status by China. Besides, Saudi friends are warmly welcomed to visit China. China is willing to work with Saudi Arabia to continuously strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism. China hopes that relevant Saudi authorities and enterprises will further improve the quality of tourism services, provide more conveniences for Chinese tourists, and effectively ensure their safety.

    Mr. Alshaibani stated that China is an important partner for Saudi Arabia in the development of its tourism industry and a key source market for Saudi tourism. Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to the Chinese tourism market and has formulated some special measures to facilitate Chinese tourists, hoping to make them feel at home in Saudi Arabia.
