Ambassador Yang Honglin and Deputy Foreign Minister Youssef deliberated on bilateral economic and trade cooperation

  On December 31, the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Yang Honglin met with the Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic and Cultural Affairs, H.E. Dr. Youssef bin Tarrad Al Sa' Doun. They exchanged views on strengthening bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

  H.E. Mr. Yang denoted that Saudi Arabia remained the largest trading partner and crude oil importing country of China in the Middle East and Africa. Bilateral economic and trade cooperation maintained a strong momentum in recent years while foreseen very bright prospects. He emphasized that the Sino-Saudi economic and trade cooperation laid solid foundation for the friendship between the two countries. He also expressed his sincere wish to promote the bilateral economic and trade cooperation to a new height through endeavors exerted by both sides.

  H.E. Dr. Youssef denoted that China had become a major economic power in the world with its ever-growing economy. Meanwhile, the Saudi economy also experienced a sound development in recent years with huge market capacities and radioactive influence towards neighboring countries. Therefore, the two economies enjoyed great potential and complementarities. He pointed out that Saudi Arabia attached great importance to the friendly cooperation with China. He also expected that the Saudi-Chinese economic and trade cooperation could step into a new stage through constant exchanges and communication.
